MediaCo's Advent-urous Festive Display
Revellers in Leicester enjoyed a super-sized celebration in 2008 thanks to the addition of a giant advent calendar produced and installed by MediaCo.
The gigantic calendar, commissioned by Leicester City Council to raise funds for the Lord Mayor's Appeal of Special Olympics Leicester 2009, measured 24 metres by 12 metres. It was produced in PVC to ensure durability and consisted of a base layer illustrated with 24 images, representing the various sponsors of the city council, and a top layer constructed of 24 windows laid over the top.
MediaCo designed a bespoke mechanism to make the reveal work smoothly, every time, and the final result provided an excellent example of how MediaCo can transform a concept into a practical application.
